After the trailer was released of Saand ki Aankh, it created a new debate of ageism in the Bollywood idustry with both the actresses because they are playing 60-year-old grandmothers in their 30s and they had to transform themselves with lots of make up to look like octogenarians. For this matter, there has been some tweets against them claiming that Bollywood should cast age-appropriate actors for older characters as it doesn’t fit the bill.
Initially the movie was titled ‘Womaniya’, but due to some issues regarding legal rights of the title, it was renamed as Saand ki Aankh. Surprisingly, Prakash Jha was also roped in to play a vital role and even Vineet Kumar was added in the cast.
